Us, the cows and the rest of the countryside

Well, we try to make the point right away: today our cows are the best thing we have, we blog about them!

Having said that, I'm going ... even though I'm just back. I just returned from the small pasture, the one where we have the 3 cows that have to give birth ... And this morning we found a lively calf! The other two will stand little: have clear signs of impending birth.

By now they are all expert mares and we can sleep peacefully. They will almost certainly be uncomplicated births, they will nurse all with dedication: Limousine cows are good moms. It hasn't always been this way though. When they were all heifers, their first child, Antonio had to face everything ... with them. But spring is advancing and… I'll tell you about this another day !!

If time holds, these animals will soon have abundant grass. It has rained enough to ensure good grazing. Happy cows that will run around 40 hectares of natural meadow. At least 12 calves will be born by June and it will be a sight to see them grow.
